Model: 不明であるが、アメリカ靴の古き良き時代を反映したモデル。
アメリカ靴では最も好きな会社だが、73年ころには廃業していた。
特徴あるToeのとがり具合。一番尖っているので一見でそれと分かる。
アウトソールはカラス仕上げ。
皮質は抜群で、今でもまったくひび割れせず、柔軟性を保っている。
ラストの形もよいが、かかとが丸く履き心地は捨てがたい。
Stitchingはダブルで細かく丁寧。Sole stitchingは細かいManual のようである。
その細長さと尖り具合は大き目の靴が良いのだが、このような小さい靴にはめったに
お目にかかれるものではない。
この靴を購入する時ブローグの黒とどちらにするか悩んだが、
黒のブローグは履かないのでこちらにした。
はける靴が購入できたのは幸運である。靴は履いてナンボである。

Remarks： 一番好きなアメリカ靴を最後に乗せることにした。
この靴のShapeはLaurence Fellows のイラストそのものである。
Laurence Fellows?は1930年代であるが、さらに古くからある形なのだ。
同年代の黒のBrogueもあったのだが、Overlay Plugだけにした。
黒のBrogueはまず履く機会がない。一方こちらはカジュアルでも幅広く履けるからだ。
靴はやはり履き方で価値が出る。できることなら30年代の服などに合わせたい。
VSAのサイトの記載からの引用：
Stetson Shoe Company, NOT to be confused with the Stetson Hat Company,
was a big-time maker of top-quality shoes from the 1800's thru 1973 when they finally
closed the doors to their Weymouth, Massachusetts manufacturing plant.
From spectators to spade soles, Stetson made some of the greatest U.S.-made shoes
of all the still-recognizable brands. It should be noted that they were cutting edge
when it came to styling, especially in the 1940's and 1950's. During this time, they were
best known for their long and somewhat pointed lasts. While much of the rest of the U.S.
shoe industry was moving toward a more rounded shape, Stetson stayed true to tradition
and instead pushed shapes that harkened back to the late 1800's to early 1920's.
When you have a pair of distinctive Stetsons, you can tell the maker without looking
at the label!
